So many solopreneurs and business owners struggle to move forward in their business simply because they’re doing too much.

But success doesn’t require to be omnipresent, create endless content, or have an offer suite bursting at the seams.

In fact, your own version of success is on the other side of choosing to do business differently and focusing on doing less, better.

That is the power of business minimalism.

In this episode, I introduce you to the process. But here, I want to expand on that by exploring why business minimalism is so vital for your six-figure solopreneur business.

What is Business Minimalism?

This may be the first time you’re hearing the term, but business minimalism has been around for a while.

My definition adapts from the first usage back in 2019. But here’s how I define the term:

Business minimalism is centering only what is essential in your business, removing everything else that isn’t non-essential or required for your version of success.

-Blu Cameron, What is Business Minimalism

Rather than trying to do it all, this process creates space for you to ask what would it look like for your business to be built from focusing ONLY on what you do best and clearing space to do just that?

How attainable would success feel if you released the pressure to do things that you hate for the sake of virality or being visible?

Business minimalism is the key to creating a successful business that you don’t have to burn out or quit later on, and that fully supports the life that you want to be living.

How I Found Business Minimalism

The process of business minimalism came to me after my business success… and failures.

I’ve been in the online business space since 2010 – first as a freelance writer, then as a sex educator, then as a Sex Ed Business Coach. Through these careers, I’ve gained experience in what it takes to create a successful business as a freelancer, service provider, and coach.

But my journey with business minimalism really began when I burnt out in my previous coaching business.

I had found success doing what others had told me to do. And while it got me a six-figure business, I had neglected to create space for my energy, my values, and my capacity in the process.

Burning out was the best thing that could have happened to me. Without it, I wouldn’t have given myself space to ask what it is that I truly wanted my business’s success to look like, and how my business could support me getting there. And I wouldn’t have released the pressure to do everything “right” by following other people’s advice and starting to create my own path.

Why Practice Business Minimalism

Business minimalism is a breath of fresh air for service-based solopreneurs.

Instead of following generic business advice to do everything, this model allows for a different path to success.

This isn’t to create competition or say there’s only way path to success – quite the opposite. This process allows you to explore the path to success that works best for you.

As a service-based solopreneur, business minimalism benefits you because it allows you to drop the to-do list and focus only on what’s essential to create the success you’re dreaming of – which, in this case, is making your next $100K.
