What is Content Planning?

Content planning is the backbone of your business.

At its core, this is the process of getting intentional with the content that your business produces and publishes.

Content is the calling card of your business. It’s a fun way to bring awareness to your business and brand.

However, the purpose of content is to convert – whether it’s through new followers, email subscribers, or clients into your paid offers.

It’s important that your content planning process take into account the ebbs and flow of your nature – including taking time off, seasonal, and promotional content.

How to Create Your Content Planning Process

Once you understand the importance of content, it becomes easier to take the content planning process seriously.

Here’s how you create a content planning process that works for you and your business:

Choose Your Primary Content Type

First, you want to choose your primary content type.

This is the key to simplifying your marketing process.

There are four main types of content: video, audio, written, and visual. Each are best suited for a particular kind of content.

By choosing one that aligns best with your communication style, this helps make your content planning more sustainable.

If you’re not sure what your primary content type is, you can get inspiration from your astrology chart.

What sign and house is your Venus in? What sign and house is your Mercury in?

These planets in particular are important to finding.

You can also determine this from your Marketing Strategy.

Prioritize Longform Content

What kind of content do you prioritize?

Following my High-Converting Content Process, all you need is to focus on creating just one long-form, high-quality piece of content based on your Primary Content Type.

When you prioritize long-form content, it becomes way less overwhelming to make content for your business. Burnout becomes a non-issue when you have the space, capacity, and time to make higher-quality content.

Putting YouTube (for video), podcasts (for audio), or blogging (for writing) at the center of your marketing strategy allows you to make thought leadership that builds authority and expertise over time.

Shortform content may be good to bring new eyes to your business in the short term, but you need long-form content in order to sustain it.

Longform content also gets better over time – making it easier for people to go through your full marketing process even while you’re not working.

Content Creation Process

Once you have your Primary Content Type, how often do you need to publish?

For business owners looking to grow and scale their expertise, weekly is a great cadence to prioritize publishing content at.

Publishing weekly allows you to prioritize one long-form core piece of content that can easily be repurposed into short-form content.

Consistency is really about maintaining the frequency you can publish original and repurposed content on a regular basis.

Daily publishing or going viral isn’t necessary for you to see success. It’s not about daily publishing, going viral, or being active on every platform.

Instead, a sustainable content creation process honors your nature, allowing you to hone in on what you do best and what will build your authority.

Content planning doesn’t have to be an overwhelming process.

In fact, when you make it sustainable, it becomes one of your secret weapons behind a successful business.
